Meeting Pointe Ministries — History

A journey of prayer, unity, reconciliation and the power of God’s love at work in the city of Ottawa.

2017 — The Beginning

October 10th, 2017 — Meeting Pointe Ministries was founded. The first broadcast went live on Facebook, marking the start of the ministry’s public journey to impact lives through prayer and unity.

2017 – 2020 — The Season of Prayer

From 2017 to 2020, MPM prayed fervently for pastors, leaders, and God’s servants across the world during the COVID pandemic, as instructed by the Lord. This was a season of deep intercession and standing in the gap for the Body of Christ.

2019 – 2023 — Leadership & City Impact

During this time, Dr. Isaac Gimba served on the Board of Love Ottawa and One Way Ministries Canada. He also served as the President of the Assembly of Pastors and Leaders Canada (APLC), formerly known as the International Pastors and Leaders Forum (IPLC).

2021 — Crucial Conversations

In 2021, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Gimba initiated what became known as the Crucial Conversations, supported by One Way Ministries under Richard Long, Executive Director of Love Ottawa.

Over three powerful online sessions, more than 100 white and black pastors and leaders from various denominations across Ottawa came together for healing and understanding.

“Where there is no relationship, there can be no fellowship. Fellowship breeds understanding, and understanding strengthens empathy, honour, and mutuality.”

Hearts melted, walls crumbled, and reconciliation began. White pastors asked forgiveness from their black counterparts, and black pastors released long-held pain and bitterness. A wave of compassion and unity swept across the city — a true move of the Spirit.

2023 — The Unity Movement

April 1st, 2023 — The City of Ottawa Unity Movement officially launched with around 100 pastors and leaders gathering at Manotick Community Church led by Pastor Doug Valerio.

Together, they joined hands with Dr. Gimba, responding to the call for tangible unity modeled by Jesus and the early church. This historic gathering sparked a new wave of reconciliation across cultural and denominational lines.

  • Reconciliation between white indigenous Canadian leaders and immigrant or diaspora pastors (Black, African, Caribbean, Asian, Middle-Eastern, South-American, Latino, and Black American).
  • Unity among churches that once stood divided — a true testimony of God’s grace.

Bridging the Divide — English & French Pastors

Further healing came in 2023 when a long-standing division between white French and white English pastors in Ottawa was brought into the light.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, animosity was broken, and love prevailed. English pastors crossed into Gatineau for the first time to fellowship with their French counterparts at Pastor Bruno Savard’s church — symbolically bridging the gap across the Ottawa River.

“Even if Jesus Christ Himself was holding an event in Gatineau, the English pastors would not cross the bridge — until now.”

The wall of division came down. A new light of friendship and partnership dawned in Ottawa-Gatineau. Indeed, it is always a joy to see Satan lose ground to the love, mercy, and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
